A pair of silk kesi rank badges, buzi, for the wife of a 5th rank civil official. Each badge woven with a silver pheasant perched on a rock and gazing at a sun disc. The background of a gold thread swastika fret set with Buddhist and Daoist emblems and Precious Things amongst clouds. The foreground with water and waves supporting further Buddhist Emblems flanked by rocks, narcissus, prunus, magnolia and peony sprays.
*Badges with the sun disc on the upper right side were made for women, who wore the same rank as their husband or father.
